The Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) has partnered with the Shiv Nadar Foundation (SNF) for an
undergraduate programme in engineering. The course that offers both mechanical and electrical engineering
will also give students the opportunity to study at the CMU. The curriculum of the new course is designed by
the CMU and will be taught by the faculty of the SSN institutions in India. The admission and academic
processes will have the same rigorous standards that are followed at CMU. After the course, students will get a
Carnegie Mellon University certificate. “India’s engineers constitute a large proportion of the world’s key
scientific and research establishments. The partnership will help us offer a distinctive edge to Indian students,”
said Jared Cohon, President, CMU.
