MOUNT HOLYOKE COLLEGE 21ST CENTURY SCHOLARS PROGRAM VALUED AT $25,000 ANNUALLY
Mount Holyoke’s 21st Century Scholars Program is their most distinguished and generous merit award. Each year, approximately 35 new scholars are welcomed into the program.
These first-year students have an outstanding record of scholarship and co-curricular achievement, as well as considerable leadership potential. This award includes:
A $25,000 scholarship renewed annually for up to a maximum of eight semesters
Funding for an internship or research project of the student’s own design
Admission to a first-year honors tutorial with a faculty member

UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO OFFERS INTERNATIONAL ROCKET SCHOLARSHIP
The International Rocket Scholarship is offered to new undergraduate international students who are entering the university as an adult, transfer or directly from high school who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship covers the out of state surcharge, valued at approximately $9,000. Students whose native language is not English must have a minimum international TOEFL score of 500 paper based, 173 computer based, or 61 internet based test or a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 and be academically admissible to receive this award.
Students are eligible for this award until they earn an undergraduate degree, but must do so within 15 semesters over a maximum of five consecutive years. A completed international undergraduate application for admission, all required transcripts, $40 application fee, and official passing TOEFL or IELTS report must be postmarked by the application priority deadline for the term of application.

PARTIAL TO FULL FUNDING FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY
Pittsburg State University is a public university located in the southeast corner of the state of Kansas. Serving approximately 7,000 students, PSU has an international population of about 500 students from 40 different countries. Pittsburg State offers more than 100 internationally recognized undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Although the university is more than 100 years old, class sizes have remained small and individually focused. Pittsburg State University is very attractive to prospective international students because of the quality of our programs and the comparatively low tuition fees.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS JOURNAL ESSAY CONTEST OFFERS $1000 TO UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Foreign Affairs publishes articles by today's leaders and thinkers that tackle the most pressing issues in international relations. We want to give tomorrow's leaders the opportunity to demonstrate innovative thinking on the issues that shape their world. In the second annual Foreign Affairs Essay Contest, a panel from the Foreign Affairs editorial staff will select one undergraduate's essay to be published on the Foreign Affairs Web site.
The winner will also receive a prize of $1,000, and five honorable mentions will receive a free year-long subscription to Foreign Affairs. Students outside the U.S. are also eligible to submit an essay. Entries must be submitted by July 1, 2011.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE AT LEEWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE – UNIVERSITY OF
HAWAII
Leeward Community College – University of Hawaii offers scholarships to international students after completion of one semester of study in the undergraduate degree program. The scholarships are $500 per semester and can be awarded for a total of four semesters. Students are eligible to apply with a 3.0 G.P.A. In addition, Leeward Community College also offers Departmental Scholarships which international students are eligible to apply for.
These scholarships require students to provide 50 hours of service to a Division office on campus and the student receives a $500 scholarship per semester. Students can be awarded both scholarships concurrently.

ECKERD COLLEGE LAUNCHES NEW INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS AWARD
Eckerd College, a small, liberal arts and sciences college in St. Petersburg, Florida, has recently added an International Scholars Award for admitted students. All students who are admitted to the College are eligible to apply for this award. Eckerd College is rolling admission but students must be admitted by April 1 to be invited to apply for the International Scholars Award, which gives up to $5000 per year, renewable, toward the cost of tuition.
Students are automatically considered for other merit-based scholarship awards at the time of application. Awards are given up to $11,000 per year, renewable. Eckerd College offers 39 majors across the arts and sciences including Marine Science, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, International Business, International Relations, Economics, and a 3-2 Engineering Program. INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE SCHOLARSHIP VALUED AT $15,000 FROM WINTHROP UNIVERSITY
The International Baccalaureate scholarship is awarded to freshman applicants who complete the IB Program (Diploma or Certificates) through the senior year of high school and who have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

Merit scholarships are available to freshmen international students who take the SAT exam and begin their studies in the fall quarter through the Gateway Award Program.
Award amounts are based on combined Math and Critical Reading sections of the SAT exam and range from $6500 (score of 1130) to approximately $15,500 (score of at least 1400). Awards are renewable for up to 4 years.

Dean’s Scholarships: International Students with a B average (3.0) or higher and with ONE of the following proficiency scores: IBT TOEFL 72, IELTS 6.0, SAT 1650, or ACT 24 are encouraged to apply. Scholarships will range from $2500 - $10000. There is no special application necessary to be considered for these scholarships. International Baccalaureate Scholarship: International Students who have completed an international baccalaureate diploma may receive an award of $3000 stacked with a student’s Academic Dean Scholarship.
Trustee Scholarships: These are by invitation only and are available for the Fall 2011 semester. Students must submit a high school transcript of B+ (3.5) or higher and the SAT cumulative score of 1920 or higher. Scholarships range from full tuition up to a limited number of full rides.
Activity Awards: Available to international students who apply and are admitted to Drury University may qualify for an Activity Award in Art (majors only), Athletics, Debate, Music, and Theatre. Application procedures, eligibility requirements, and deadlines vary depending on the type of award.

International Students are eligible for need-based and merit-based financial aid, and are encouraged to apply for a variety of awards that acknowledge students who have reached a high level of academic achievement throughout their high school career. With the exception of the Wesson Honors Scholarship, there is neither a separate application, nor deadline for these scholarships. As part of our rolling admissions process, students will be informed of the award decision at the point of acceptance. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ACADEMIC AWARD AVAILABLE AT NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY
The International Academic Award is available to academically talented, undergraduate international students who are enrolled at Northern Michigan University as first-time, full-time baccalaureate students.
The award reduces tuition and this reduction can amount to a savings of $1,100 per spring semester, $1,100 per winter semester, $1,000 per spring/summer semester, or up to $3,200 per calendar year.
The international student must meet the following conditions in order to be eligible:
• Must hold a valid, in status, F-1 Visa.
• Must achieve a 3.00 cumulative GPA (or higher) within the first four semesters of study at NMU, with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.

THE PHILLIPS COLLECTION FELLOWSHIP AVAILABLE AT THE GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY
The Phillips Collection, in partnership with The George Washington University (GWU), offers a Post-Doctoral Fellowship available to support research and teaching on topics in American, European, or non-western art, including photography, from 1780 to the present. The fellow is expected to be in residence in Washington, DC, at The Phillips Collection during the fall and spring semesters throughout the term of the fellowship - July 2012 through June 2013. The Fellow wil l be expected to teach one undergraduate or graduate course at the Phillips' Center for the Study of Modern Art or at GWU's Foggy Bottom Campus, present at least one public lecture at the Phillips, and participate in other programs and discussions with scholars, critics, museum staff, and students at the museum and the university during the fellowship.
The appointment carries a departmental affiliation with GWU's Department of Fine Arts and Art History and with The Phillips Collection. The Fellowship will carry a stipend. A generous benefits package is available. In addition, the fellowship will provide various university/museum privileges, including access to facilities, libraries of institutions, equipment, support staff, curators, and faculty.
The Fellowship is open to untenured scholars who have received their Ph.D.s within the past five years. Preference will be given to applicants whose projects focus on subjects related to the museum's areas of collecting and reinterpret the topic via innovative methodological approaches or alternative perspectives that may cross national boundaries and art historical time periods. INTERNATIONAL FULBRIGHT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING FOREIGN STUDENTS
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of United States government’s Department of State is pleased to announce that it is soliciting nominations for outstanding foreign students worldwide to participate in the 2012 International Fulbright Science and Technology Program. The John F. Kennedy School of Government and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Harvard University are seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in Science, Technology and Society (STS). The one-year position will carry a teaching load of one undergraduate course in Technology and Society; the successful candidate will also assist in STS Program activities and build links between STS and SEAS.
Renewal for a second year may be possible contingent on satisfactory performance. Candidates should be qualified to carry out research on the social implications of one or more aspects of engineering or applied sciences, such as information and communication technologies, biotechnology, or nanotechnology. Areas of specialization might include studies of innovation; risk and regulation; intellectual property; new research partnerships and research governance; or ethical issues in technological R&D. Research experience on comparative, international and global issues is especially welcome. Interdisciplinary teaching experiences are highly desirable. THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS OFFERS INTERNATIONAL GUEST SCHOLARSHIPS 2012
The American College of Surgeons offers International Guest Scholarships to competent young surgeons from
countries other than the United States or Canada who have demonstrated strong interests in teaching and
research. The scholarships, in the amount of $8,000 each, provide the Scholars with an opportunity to visit
clinical, teaching, and research activities in North America and to attend and participate fully in the educational
opportunities and activities of the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.
The scholarships provide successful applicants with the privilege of participating in the College’s annual
Clinical Congress in October, with public recognition of their presence. They will receive gratis admission to
selected postgraduate courses plus admission to all lectures, demonstrations, and exhibits, which are an
integral part of the Clinical Congress. Assistance will be provided in arranging visits, following the Clinical
Congress, to various clinics and universities of their choice.

Spring 2011 Jefferson Fellowships
Dates: June 5 - 26, 2011
Destinations: Honolulu, Hawaii; Okinawa and Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; Beijing, China
Who Can Apply: The Fellowships are open to working print, broadcast, and online journalists in the United
States, the Pacific Islands, and Asia. A minimum five years of professional experience is preferred. Applicants
must have the ability to communicate in English in a professional, multi-cultural environment.
